Elmo, Monkeys and iPads

Sometimes the funniest thing in the world is an Aunty pretending that Elmo is a monkey and swinging him around on the jungle gym. The Aunt in question also brought over an iPad. Riley’s uptake of technology is truly terrifying. I can only imagine the amount of new things I will have to learn just to keep up with her. The technology generation is an understatement.
I’m pretty sure her Aunt also taught her to say ‘bugger’ while she was here. But that’s the extended family’s job. Teach them bad words, …

I Have a Spatula . . .

She was moonlighting in a friend’s toy kitchen today. It was a birthday party. There was cake, and more cake, and sprinkles. And there was feeding the ducks. And there was ball pits and trike dare-devilry. It all ended in an exhaustion tantrum. Which didn’t put a damper on any of it.

Ice Cream Good

She woke up just in time to steal her mama’s ice cream, right after she devoured her father’s.

For the Love of Driving

Already developing some mad driving skills.
Getting my license very late myself, I’m starting to realise that I missed out on all of those road trips we could have done before we had kids. Because I’m all into road trips – just picking up and going somewhere

Mooshy

Who wouldn’t want to kiss those mooshy cheeks?
It’s no secret (if you twitter) that I’ve been feeling a little low. A few things happened today to cheer me up.
When I got in the shower this morning there was a lovely message from Mr Goog using the foam letters that we have in there for Riley to play with. And he had to get creative because he could only use each letter once.

Beauty and Gobbledygook

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I get that. Sort of. And this beholder, thinks she is all kinds of beautiful.
Confession. Toddlers always kind of freaked me out. I never knew what they were saying, for one. I secretly dreaded the toddler stage. Tantrums, demands, brattish behaviour, deciphering some morphed language between English and Gobbledygook.
Luckily, it’s different when it’s your brat speaking in gobbledygook.
