She and I grew up together – we’re like family – only more interlinked because there’s choice in there too. So now, after 30 years of knowing one another, we both understand one another – inside and out.
It’s not that we didn’t have our ups and downs. I was a jealous friend in our teen years, possibly because I had so few friends and wanted to hold on to what I had – but my behaviour was childish, even for a child. And we had growing pains in early adulthood …

The silly season is almost upon us and we are going to three weddings in the next two months. All friends that I grew up with, now getting married. I think these will probably be the last weddings I go to for awhile, unless my brother decides to tie the knot, because know most people I know aren’t single. I feel old.
