Behind the Red Curtain

I’ve been thinking about doing something like this for awhile – a weekly round up of the blog and social media stuff for the week. It might turn into a regular thing or it might fizzle out completely. Impossible to tell.

Getting Personal – The Deadline

The deadline for submitting to the Carnival of Personal Blogging is tomorrow. So you better get your skates on. If you want to submit something – the theme is all about your journey to personal blogging.
I’ll remind you of some of the basics.
What is a Personal Blogger Anyway?
It’s a pretty broad category. Basically, it’s anyone who primarily uses their own life experience as the content for their blog. Yes. It’s you! With that in mind it includes humour blogs, mummy blogs, daddy blogs, slice of life blogs and pretty much …

The Real Mummy Bloggers

I have a girl crush on Kerri Sackville. There I said it. And if you haven’t checked out her movie series, you just haven’t lived. So when I heard that she’d been featured in a Sunday Life article (now posted online here) like a good little stalker I headed over for a read.
It was all about mummy bloggers. Which I guess I am. Atlhough I tend to consider myself as a personal blogger, I know everyone else in the universe would probably think of me as a mummy blogger. Because, …

Get Personal – A Blog Carnival

My very own blog carnival. Be still my beating heart. Well actually, it’s not my very own. I’m in cahoots with Joella from Blogs With Wings. But I’m going to be hosting the first month, so for the sake argument, we’ll say it’s mine. Or we won’t because I just had a rather disturbing gollum flashback. It’s definitely ours.
We plan to host a monthly blogging carnival for all you personal bloggers out there. It will be a great opportunity to discover some great new blogs, get your own blog out …

Out of the Cone of Silence

I’m not a good multi-tasker. Not by a long shot. Sure, day to day activities I can master quite well. But re-design? Not one of them. I’m also not that good at mucking about with html and css coding. I know enough to get there eventually by trial and error. But it takes forever. And I have it on good authority that while it’s going on I resemble a bit of a mad scientist.

But thankfully, it’s now complete and I’ll probably only need to tweak things as they come up. The best news? It’s still technically Friday, so I have a break on the weekend.

The Verdict

The verdict is in. Proving that it is rare that you are truly ambivalent about something. I knew the answer, I just didn’t like it. A total of 16 people participated in my survey (yes, I voted too!) And this is what it looked like:

With 63% saying it should go back to the way it was and only 13% liking the separate blog thing. Deep down I knew it. Instead of looking at this as a poorly planned, colossal failure on my part, I will choose to look at it …
