About Me
I’ve always hated these ‘about me’ pages – probably because I like to jump into things in the middle and not worry about the beginning or the end so much. As you may have already guessed my name is Zoey – I got the “Zoe” from my mother and the “y” from my father.
I grew up in all sorts of different places and when I was 20, I abandoned a law degree and wrote a novel but it still has not made it past the draft stage because I am a horrible editor and haven’t been able to get it together to go through and change everything that needs changing – more evidence of my lacklustre abilities in the endings department.
I am a mother of one and am already planning a big family. I met my husband (Mr Goog) when we were both living in the inner city, drank too much, smoked even more and actually had time to watch movies and read books. We somehow survived wedding planning and pregnancy without killing one another. In 2008 we had our daughter, Riley and moved out of the city. I miss my high heels terribly, but love the country life (or as country as I have convinced Mr Goog to go).
I started this site because I love writing and although I’m a technical writer, I’ve always wanted to find a way to write just for me. I’m also hoping that this website will act as a second brain, so that when my children ask me questions like ‘when did I start talking’ I won’t have to either lie through my teeth or admit that I am a scrapbooking failure and have no bloody clue. I love taking photos and hope to continue to take enough that my children will be completely embarrassed but secretly very pleased. With a toddler underfoot and planning to get pregnant again soon I write a lot about pregnancy, babies and toddlers. Oh and I also rant about other things here. I love a good rant.
Thank you for joining me fellow adventurers!

If you’re interested, one of my fave bloggers has started a “mommyblog” site that I think would be right up your alley:
http://offbeatmama.com (login: mamasays / timeforbed)
It’s still in the “soft launch” stage so you have to log in, but I wanted to show you now
Awesome! I am blogging for the exact same reasons.
