All About Amber
Amber is a great friend of mine, who I met on twitter. I vaguely remember suggesting that a second pregnancy was a reasonable method for quitting smoking. Because I’m classy like that. She may live on the other side of the planet, but is a kindred spirit. I also might have named Riley’s favourite stuffed toy after Amber. Hopefully Amber finds this endearing rather than demeaning.
All About Me
- I crochet. I do not have the skills to create anything that’s not square. But I do crochet, and I love it. The perfect way to keep the hands busy and the mind active. Sometimes I even finish my crochet projects. Riley’s baby blanket was a crowning achievement.
- I hate cleaning floors. Any other kind of cleaning I’m fine with, but I hate vacuuming, sweeping and mopping with a firey passion. I make Mr Goog do it. Luckily he doesn’t mind.
- I am incapable of following a recipe. Even when I think I am following a recipe, I’ve changed it in some way. I also hail from the school of thought that if the kitchen doesn’t look like a mess after you’ve finished cooking, the meal probably won’t taste very good.
- I have a shoe and handbag collection worthy of a closet the size of the one in Sex and the City. Sadly, they don’t have the home they deserve, yet. Of all of the things in my former life, it is the shoes that I miss the most.
- While I wish I could look down my nose at reality tv, and I know it is complete and utter crap with no redeeming value, I watch ALOT of it and enjoy it. Particularly if I get to eat junk food at the same time.
- I have demon hair that could star in its own horror film. It is coarse, unbelievably thick and far to susceptible to Australia’s humidity. I would have it permanently straightened, but I have to colour my hair because I’ve been steadily going gray since the age of 17. Doing both is a bit too damaging. But I am very nostalgic for when my hair was permanently straightened. It was heaven.
- I give off the illusion of calm very well. I could be totally freaking out on the inside and have a serene exterior. In fact, most of the time, I am freaking out on the inside, but this ability gives me the facade of normality.
The Beautiful
I have met so many lovely bloggers, so it’s hard to just pick seven, but here goes:
- Megan at Writing Out Loud is irreverant, witty and heartfelt. My kind of woman.
- Christie at Childhood101 has an amazing blog with so many fantastic resources all injected with her beautiful personality. She’s awesome.
- Sarah at Oh the Possibilities who is honest, kind, generous and thought provoking. Lust after her mad skills. I do.
- Carrie at Ceaseless Praises is a fellow baby-wearer with a heart of pure gold.
- Catherine at SquiggleMum may be from Queensland, but I don’t hold it against her ;o) I could say a lot of things about how fantastic her blog is, how many great ideas she has, but what I want to say is she’s just lovely.
- Tiff at Three Ring Circus is a kindred spirit. I love her sensitivity and her bravery.
- Kerri at Life and Other Crises we share a love of nutella, but we do NOT share Simon Baker. He belongs to Kerri. Respect that, or else.

Oh! Thank you! That is so lovely of you xo
Love the 7 facts!

Awww…thanks for the award!
.-= Carrie´s last blog ..Both Hands =-.
Is that the toy in question? My namesake, a pink turtle? I’m honored!
Your #1 detail about yourself made me LOL. I’ve always said I can only crochet flat things…and even then they’re almost never square
.-= Amber´s last blog ..Extension Granted =-.
Yes – that’s her! I have no idea why this turtle is pink or has a tutu on – but Riley loves her – takes her everywhere.
