This is the first guest post on Good Goog, and it comes from Amber @ The Unlikely Mama. You can follow her on twitter here. Be warned, photos of her gorgeous daughter, Alexa, are a wee bit addictive. Proceed with caution. Amber has a generous spirit, an old soul and a wicked sense of humour (is there any other kind?) so give her a warm welcome!
Whoever says being a baby is easy is crazy. Put yourself in your child’s shoes, or well, booties
Babies are like tiny refuges ripped (or…pushed) from a nonexistent home land. They’re placed in the care of these well meaning parents who might as well be a host family. They don’t speak the same language and they don’t understand each others customs. No one knows that you want, even though they try…all you can do is cry till they make a good guess.
There are so many new things to learn to do, and none of it comes easily. From day one it’s a challenge. Learning to eat, be it bottle or breast. Suck suck, swallow, breath, choke choke…try again. Learning to sleep…alone or with parents, it’s still trickier than it sounds. Too dark, too light, too loud, too quiet…it’s scary! Learning to move; reaching, grabbing, dropping, missing, lunging, crawling, falling, standing, walking, running…it’s all too much sometimes. Everything is out of reach, and once they’re big enough, strong enough, tall enough to reach it…you move it. SO FRUSTRATING!
Being a baby hurts!
Growing HURTS.
Teething HURTS
Crying too much HURTS
Falling down HURTS
I swear, if they were able to, babies would sue us for physical and mental anguish. It’s a good thing we can’t remember what it’s like to actually experience this stage of life. I guess it’s like most great, but painful things in life, we’re lucky to have selective memory (or no memory at all)!

YAY! My first guest spot **blushes**

I already have another idea for a guest post you can do. Will email you. Don’t want to ruin the surprise. It’s greedy on my part, but what the hell.
I agree. Everyday I wonder how much brain damage Noah is getting every time he bumps his head
